On the morning of Monday, July 30, 2018, two Border Patrol agents detained a Traverse City man who was on his way to work at a Traverse City business. He has no criminal record. He is the only “bread-winner” in his family. The family is left in dire straights because of the loss of his income, his 2 jobs, his insurance, and the fact that the three family members who remain at home all have medical issues, some serious, that require constant treatments and expensive medications. In addition, of course, are basic living expenses for food, rent, car expenses and the like.
While JFON (Justice For Our Neighbors) is currently evaluating if they will be able to represent the detained man, JPAC (Justice and Peace Advocacy Center) is monitoring to ensure they find appropriate legal representation and is seeking to help the family cope with their basic financial needs during this time of emergency.
YOUR DONATIONS TO JPAC are very much needed to be able to provide the necessary support to this family and to others like it in our area who are the victims of the oppressive policies of the Trump Administration towards immigrants whose good character had been recognized by previous Administrations.
PLEASE HELP US help this family and others like it to survive this onslaught especially in the immediate aftermath of the detention of a parent of a family!
THANK YOU very much for whatever help you may be able to provide. Abundant Blessings of Peace to you and yours!
